Hand Colored Woodcut Workshop

Joseph Vorgity will be conducting a hand-colored woodcut workshop on Saturday, October 9th and Sunday, October 10th from 9 am to 4 pm. This historical method of applying watercolor to a black and white print was used in many cultures before the introduction of color printing. This technique is becoming increasingly popular with contemporary printmakers. Participants will have the opportunity of creating a small edition. Woodcut design, proper cutting technique, tool maintenance, inking, printing with an etching press and basic watercolor techniques will be covered.
