Linocut workshop

This one day workshop will cover relief carving and printing using linoleum and hand carving techniques. A design is cut into the linoleum surface with varying gouges, with the raised (uncarved) areas representing a reversal (mirror image) of the parts to show printed. The linoleum block is inked with a brayer, and then impressed onto paper or fabric. The actual printing can be done by hand or with a printing press. Participants will hand carve a linoleum block and create a small edition of prints. Blocks sized up to 8 x 10” will be provided. Workshop taught by May Roded.
