A native Californian and Los Angeles resident, her botanical based prints and paintings are inspired by her background in plant biology. "I utilize elements of botanical illustration, but manipulate the subject matter in ways scientific representation would never do. The muted colors of a dying flower, the shadows produced from a shriveled leaf are so much more interesting and beautiful than their living counterparts."
